Meet Liza – The Small Dog Who Probably Thinks She Runs Everything
I think it is time to introduce someone important.
Her name is Liza.
Officially, she is my dog.
Unofficially, I am increasingly convinced that I am simply a member of her staff. 😄
Liza is a sensitive soul and a typical anxious dog. Trust has not always been easy for her, and watching her grow has taught me a lot about patience.
With an anxious dog, courage often looks different.
Sometimes courage is not running fearlessly into the world.
Sometimes it is taking one small step forward.
Trying something new.
Trusting a little more than yesterday.
Liza joins me in everyday life, in nature and sometimes on adventures that she probably did not approve in advance.
She makes me laugh.
She makes me slow down.
And occasionally she looks at me in a way that strongly suggests I have made another questionable human decision.
Animals can have an incredible place in our lives.
They do not ask for perfect explanations.
They do not care whether we had a productive day.
They simply stay.
