Today I would like to send a hello from Germany to everyone reading this in the United States. I’m Daniel, I live with Fabry disease, and I started Rare & Chronic Voices to bring people living with rare or chronic illnesses, their families, and caregivers together.
We are still a small community. I would love to get to know more people across the Atlantic and hear about the things that matter in your everyday lives.
There is room here for difficult days, questions, and experiences you would like to share. And there is room for the rest of life, too: a hobby, a walk, a photo, or something that made you laugh. For me, that often includes my dog Liza and my camera.
You do not need to write a long story or share your diagnosis. You can start by reading the conversations in our English forum. If you feel like joining in, a few words are enough. You decide what you want to make public.
I hope this can become a place where people get to know one another, even when they live far apart. Whether you are in the United States or somewhere else, you are welcome.
