What Makes Me Smile in Everyday Life

Read this post in: Deutsch · English · Español

I’m feeling good this morning. And for me, that’s a lovely reason to write about the things that make me smile in everyday life. Liza, my camera and time outdoors are the first things that come to mind.

Going out with Liza is part of my everyday life. So is photography, where it’s often the little things that matter. A leaf, a bird or the light between the trees can be reason enough to take a closer look. It doesn’t have to involve a big trip. There’s plenty to discover close to home, too.

What I like about it is that every walk doesn’t have to turn into something special. And every photo doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. Though I certainly wouldn’t complain about getting a really good shot.

Sometimes it’s a kind message, too. Someone asking how you are, or simply getting in touch. To the other person, it might just be a few words. Yet that little moment of connection can mean a lot.

At Rare & Chronic Voices, we talk about rare and chronic conditions and what living with them involves. But I also want this to be a place for the things that bring us joy. Our hobbies, our animals and whatever we enjoy sharing with one another.

So today, my question for you is: What has made you smile recently? Perhaps you’d like to share it in the comments. It doesn’t have to be a big story.
