Autumn – Little Moments of Joy Among Colourful Leaves 🍂

There’s something lovely about autumn. The trees turn colourful, the light gets softer, and a warm coffee at home tastes just that little bit better. Admittedly, in the morning you might spend a little longer wondering whether you really need to leave the comfort of your blanket. But as soon as Liza wants to go outside, that discussion is over. 😊

I love hearing the leaves rustle under my feet. Those moments when the sun suddenly breaks through the clouds and makes the autumn colours glow. I like to stop and take a closer look. With my camera along, “just a quick walk” can easily turn into a much longer outing. A beautiful leaf here, a mushroom there – perhaps you know how that goes.

It doesn’t take much to enjoy a lovely moment. Some fresh air, a familiar path, and a little time to notice what’s around you. Sometimes, all it takes is looking at a tree that was green yesterday and now looks as though someone has tipped a whole paintbox over it.

Of course, grey days are part of autumn too. Days with rain, wet shoes, and a hairstyle that gave up before you even made it past the front door. But even then, there’s something to look forward to: coming home, putting on dry clothes, and warming your hands around a hot cup.

For me, autumn is a good time to slow down a little. I don’t need to fill every spare moment with plans. A short walk with Liza, a few photos, and then putting my feet up – that can already make for a pretty good afternoon.

This autumn, I want to make time for those moments. For the colours along the path, for a good conversation, and for doing absolutely nothing without feeling guilty about it for once.

And if a leaf happens to land on my head, I’ll take it as a friendly reminder: look up, there’s still something beautiful to see. 🍁

What do you love most about autumn? The colourful woods, cosy evenings, or walks through rustling leaves? Let me know in the comments.
