If You Could Be an Animal for One Week – Which One Would You Choose, and Why?

This question stayed with me today.

If I could be any animal for just one week, which one would I choose?

Many people would probably say an eagle. Flying high above the mountains, feeling the wind beneath your wings, seeing the world from a completely different perspective. And honestly, I understand why.

But I think I would choose a wolf.

Not because it is strong or feared, but because a wolf represents something that sometimes feels rare in today’s world: loyalty, trust, and the importance of family.

A wolf doesn’t have to prove who it is. It knows its place, protects its pack, and understands that together, we are stronger than we are alone. At the same time, it belongs to nature, to wide open spaces, and to freedom—things that have always meant a great deal to me.

I imagine walking through a quiet forest at sunrise. No phone. No deadlines. No noise. Just the sound of leaves beneath my paws, the fresh scent of the woods, and the feeling of being exactly where I belong.

Maybe that week would also teach me to see life differently. To stop worrying about everything for a while and simply enjoy the present moment.

Living with a rare disease often makes you focus on the things you can’t do. Perhaps that’s why it’s sometimes healthy to imagine being someone—or something—else for a little while. Not to escape life, but to remember how beautiful, diverse, and full of wonder this world really is.

And when that week came to an end?

I think I would be happy to be myself again. With all the challenges life brings, but also with the people who make it meaningful. With my camera. My walks in nature. And, of course, with Liza by my side.
